Last weekend I was gifted a mountain cabin in the snow for a belated birthday present from my children. I spent the weekend skiing, walking in the snow-covered woods, relaxing, cooking good meals, reading and watching movies. It was delightful.
But what if I had let my anxiety of driving on snow covered roads, or fear of my parked car getting stuck overnight as it continued to snow or my anxiety of falling flat on my face as I got off the ski lift –stop me from all the activities of the weekend?
What beauty, fun activity and pure joy I would have missed if I didn’t push thru all of those concerns.
Perhaps you can relate. Perhaps you are up against a big transition in your life that seems hard, sad, and not how you thought your life would be.
While my weekend in the snowy mountains is not epic or hard or sad or dramatically life changing, the piece you might take away from my little event is that just taking one small step to stretch yourself, to take a risk in the direction of your joy, your growth, of your passion can enliven you in much larger ways.
And it is a beginning of trusting that the Universe has your back, that this sadness, this ending, this life not how you thought it would be–could turn into something very magical, powerful and full of passion for you and your family.
Here’s to abundant joy for you on your path!!
