Many women are telling me that overwhelm is one of the challenges they are facing right now. Are you one of these women?
It is understandable. The pace of life is speeding up, change is happening all around us. It is easy to feel ill at ease, undone or not knowing what to do next.
Take a deep breath, I mean a really deep breath and let it out slowly.
A couple of questions—How is your connection to Spirit, to your Inner Wise Woman right now?
Are you going with the flow of your life, even if it isn’t going where you thought it would go—or are you trying to push the flow of the river?
Feeling disconnected from your Life Energy, Your Inner Wise Woman or trying to push life rather than be in acceptance and curiosity about what the gift could be in what looks like a mess– are a couple of ways to calm the overwhelm.
What to do when you feel overwhelmed and stressed.
Having high expectations of yourself can also be a source of overwhelm.
Are you being too hard on yourself in some way? Does this ring of the past? Were there messages from those around you when you were young about what you “should” be doing or some way you “should” be acting?
Are those words or actions still ringing in your mental and emotional body?
As we grow in our spiritual journey, however you might name it—we grow in acceptance, forgiveness and love for ourselves.
But it is a journey.
You may not yet be in a place of total love and acceptance of yourself—be gentle here, be curious, give yourself space and pause.
Get into nature and let Mother Earth comfort you. Being in nature is a sure remedy for overwhelm and lots of expectations for ourselves. The trees, meadows, streams, parks, flower beds, green lawns, oceans, mountains give their shakti/their energy and light to all who come to visit.
Listen less to the news. Give yourself breaks from scrolling thru FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter or TitTok.
Remember to do deep breathing, breath in the Light and exhale the overwhelm and all the expectations of yourself that are weighing you down.
At your essence, your True Self, you are Light, you are Love, you are Enough. Remember this.
