What does it mean to go beyond fear?
Today I was gifted with a song/meditation by Tina Turner called Beyond. It put me right into a quiet mind, settled my thoughts and was a powerful gift for the day, the end of the week.
As my spiritual teacher often told us, the walls of the ego, the structure of the ego is made of fear. To go beyond fear is to go beyond the ego.
How to get ride of fear?
And there are all kinds of warning signs built into the egoic system that say DO NOT go THERE, when we start to venture in that direction.
It takes a strong constitution and spiritual maturity to ignore those warning, to bypass them and go anyway.
But the rewards are sooo sweet and powerful.
What’s a fear you have in your life that you would like to go beyond?
–Fear of speaking your mind at work or in your family
–F/o getting a new job or making a physical move
–fear of success in your most priced endeavor
–f/o being publicly humiliated for a stand you are taking
Can you imagine what “going beyond this fear” would look like?
How do I push past my fears?
Play with it and see if you can get a picture, a feeling, an emotion. Is it freedom, joy, peace, quiet, love, excitement, all is well?
Using a mantra or powerful phrase can help the mind to let go. Especially mantra’s that use I AM
Here are a couple:
I am confident in speaking my mind.
I am excited about the new possibilities in my move or new job.
I am a successful woman, open to growing and expanding my potential.
I am strong and heart centered in my stand about _______________and other people’s thoughts about my stand are none of my business.
As a reminder for those who already know – Here is the Buddhist mantra for going beyond: (gate is pronounced ga- tay)
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Para Sam gate Bodhi svaha
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Para Sam gate Bodhi svaha
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Para Sam gate Bodhisvaha.
Bodhi Svaha
English:
Gone, Gone, Gone beyond Gone utterly beyond
Gone, Gone, Gone beyond Gone utterly beyond
Gone, Gone, Gone beyond Gone utterly beyond
Oh what an Awakening
The words of Tina Turner’s meditation/song really resonated with me and was such a wonderful reminder. Here are some of them:
Embrace the circle of life
That is the greatest love
Go beyond fear
Go beyond fear
Beyond fear takes you into a place
Where love grows
When you refuse to follow the impulses
Of fear, anger and revenge
Go beyond the rights and the wrongs
Prayer clears the head and
Brings back peace to the soul
Go beyond to feel the o-n-e-ness of the unity
Sing, singing takes you beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond

Have a blessed day and remember- Love grows beyond fear!!
